The Bone Algorithm

The space moves the dancers, their movement generates sound, the sound redesigns the space.... The result is a delicate interplay of cause and effect, but who is the instrument and who is the player?
The performance poses the question: Could the inner workings of Artificial Intelligence be reversed in Organic Intelligence? Amos Ben-Tal, Gosse de Kort and Salvador Breed once again join forces and explore the theme of the "devolution" of technology.
The performance imagines a possible future where a tipping point is reached and life starts to imitate technology. What kind of beings would we become? The Bone Algorithm is intriguing not only for the experienced dance lover, but also for fans of visual art and new music. Interweaving powerful dance, sound and image, the three artists create a total experience for the audience.*
OFFprojects is a collective of former dancers of NDT and Batsheva Ensemble that gathers around the work of choreographer and musician Amos Ben-Tal. In recent years OFFprojects has successfully collaborated with interdisciplinary artist Gosse de Kort (Interval, 2021) and sound artist Salvador Breed (PART, 2022). In both pieces, the creators found a symbiosis of their art forms that resulted in innovative performances. Interval was nominated for the prestigious Swan for most impressive dance production and PART was named by the press as one of the best performances of 2022.
* After the performance, the audience is invited to "play" the instrument themselves and explore the space.
"Immensely fascinating what Ben-Tal does with the perception of space, time and human actions."
"In the face of the technology-driven objects and the resulting limitations and risks, the dancers maneuver themselves with conviction, but never lose their sense of humanity."
"horeographer Amos Ben-Tal, sound artist Salvador Breed and the musicians of the Ragazze Quartet disassemble the composition to gloriously reassemble it before the eyes and ears of the audience."
