What You See: On Hold
If you were to sign up for gender-affirming care in the Netherlands today, you’d have to wait up to three years or longer(!), before you can even start the initial intake. For trans, non-binary and other non-cis people that need this healthcare, this endless waiting is crushing. To many, young and old, it feels like their life is on hold.
In the photo series On Hold, photographer Prins de Vos creates portraits of people on the long waiting list for gender-affirming care. In their gripping photos, De Vos captures a raw, realistic representation of how they experience and endure the seemingly never-ending pause. All unique lives, connected by the same wait.
This exposition can be viewed on Thursday November 14th and Friday November 15th from 12:00 until 20:00, and around the performances in Theater Kikker.
Want Art can change the world!
