Young playwright Gina Beuk devised this imaginative, visual and musical performance about fear that can paralyze you, and about the bucks you make when you find something very exciting. In Oh Deer! three actors play a bunch of wonderful characters, who gradually get more and more involved with each other. On one side of the stage is a forest, where a merry deer comes dashing by. Two hunters plan to shoot the deer, but one of the hunters is so frightened that he dares nothing. In the deserted café on the other side sits a lonely woman (played by Gina Beuk). She smokes so many cigarettes that smoke even comes out of her purse. The woman used to be a singing duo, and suddenly she is back in time and singing away at it in the café with the mate she lost.

Only when the fleeing deer, the lonely woman and the frightened hunter meet do they overcome their fears together. And they discover how free they can be, and what a party they can build with each other.

In the wordless, expressive theater language, the three wonderfully expressive actors indulge in the stage characters. With scenes that are hilarious one moment, and then dreamily stilled the next, they tell this story. A strange fairy tale that is nevertheless full of recognizable emotions.
